Built throughout 2030 in the Transit District Zoning, these sites will be within 2000 steps to BART consisting of approximately 2400 units of affordable housing. Entitlement of an additional 800-1000 units of 10 story affordable housing/commercial units are in planning for an Urban Village zoning for the 2040 General Plan.
These projects equate to approximately 4,500 housing units as of April 2020. Our thrust from 2018 to date has been to focus on projects within downtown and/or mass transit corridors. With the Google campus and other major national employers coming into San Jose which is – the heart of Silicon Valley – between 2020-2026 and for which 25,000 housing units are needed, we believe that we will make a major impact on the demand.
